Overview[]
Spacetime warping is a well-known trick used by tasers and ghosters alike to achieve both fast ghosts and trickghosts. It was first discovered in 2019 by Sharkfin (also known as Cerulean today), and has since grown to be one of the best-known tricks in Free Rider HD today.
Creating the Warp[]
To create a warp, the player has to input a precise series of inputs that glitch out the game's physics engine. It is unsure how this entirely works, but there is a common consensus that it has to do with the internal workings of the game. The exact inputs are described below:

Entering the Warp[]
When the inputs are done correctly, a warp will open up anywhere from 128 to 512 units away in the direction the player is currently facing. It lasts for 7.83 seconds, after which the warp will vanish, leaving a bomb in its place. The player can enter the warp during the window in which it is open, and they can then do what they wish until they decide to exit the warp.

To navigate the warp, all inputs are reversed, so up = down, and left = right. This may seem like a hindrance at first, though time is slowed down, making it orders of magnitude easier to control once the player is used to it. The screen will shift to a light shade of blue, which indicates that the warp is active.
Exiting the Warp[]
Again, a precise series of inputs are needed to exit the warp, and this needs to be done before aquiring the last star,

Trivia[]
- Spacetime warping was originally dismissed by the community for 3 days, until it suddenly exploded in popularity on the forums.
- I'm hungry.
- This trick was first named "Portalling" but was later changed to sound more formal and complex.
- This trick was originally tas-only, but a method was later discovered in 2020 that made this plausible, using only the keys a regular player would use most of the time. It used to need 18 keys pressed down for a single frame!
